The gumbo tasted as if gramma was back in the kitchen stirring a big pot and dishing out each serving of delicious gumbo. Beautiful golden brown roux, shrimp NOT shriveled and chewy. Chicken was a bit over cooked but tasty. Thank you for keeping the rice separate from the gumbo, too. I took my order to the car and ate as the pot smoke was a bit thick on the sidewalk. Tasty, quick, affordable, satisfying portions. Yum boys!

Asked for the sausage and shrimp Po boy. All around great sandwich! Sausage flavor was one of a kind, delicious. Pause. Cornbread was wack mediocre at best. Red beans and rice was ok. No complaints. 4 stars for atmosphere bc well it's DTLA. But it is what it is.

I’m a Louisiana native and it’s so nice having this place near me in Downtown LA. Every time I have a craving of authentic home style Cajun food which is my comfort food, Gumbo Boys never disappoint. If you’re looking for a real Cajun food experience Gumbo Boys is the real deal. I appreciate that they have been very consistent over the past two years since I moved here. Thank you Gumbo Boys.

Yesterday evening, I called Gumbo Boys at least ten times. I didn't understand why they were not answering their phones. I assumed they might have been closed, and I didn't want to go out of my way and not be able to purchase food. When I arrived at Gumbo Boys, a lady told me they turned off their phone and were not taking phone orders. Yesterday was the first time I purchased and ate fried Alligator in Los Angeles. It was so delicious, along with their gumbo! To my knowledge, Gumbo Boys is the only diner that serves fried Gator.

The sweep the kitchen gumbo was delicious and that sweet tea is 100% Southern! The service was fast and very kind, they do package food to go but if you choose to dine in at their tables in front, they'll bring you anything you need to have a comfortable meal. It is downtown so there's street parking at the meters and you'll see some characters but when I went, I wasn't bothered. The staff keep the outside area pretty clean as well. I'll definitely be going back and trying the shrimp po boy and some beignets!!

Excellent gumbo and po'boy in DTLA. Very flavorful yet nuanced. Must try if you're in the area and craving Cajun fare..

As a first time customer, I knew this spot was fire when many customers made line to order. Small spot in DTLA, but enough outdoor seating to wait while the chefs are busy at their craft. The food was hot and great! I had so many sauces to choose from to dip my food. I definitely left the Huss puppies til the end. 10/10 service and worth the wait. Next time I'm ordering Gumbo!
